New Beginnings...
Dateline - Memphis, TN - Just like everyone else, I guess it is time to start thinking (I know, most folks have not only started but also completed) about my 2005 goals.
My challenge is that I am not quite sure what I want to be when I grow up. And as I get older (this is a BIG year birthday), I am a little more conservative about not wanting to lose what I already have.
But I do know I want more than I have. And there are opportunities out there.
But as usual, I digress. This year I am going to get serious about the following:
- Eating better - I have lost a bunch of weight. But I have also hindered true success by not eating nutritionally. So I want to cut back to three sweets a week till March and then take it down to once a week.
- Regular excercise - 3 times a week would be great for the first quarter. Then let's see where it goes.
- Career aspirations - this is where it gets a bit cloudy. I have decided to continue the pool service business. After all, I made money at it last year and there isn't a reason I wouldn't this year as well. I just committed to the yellow pages and I am going to get out a marketing letter this week to hotels/motels/apartments/condo associations that have pools. I think I could net $20,000 this year (which isn't bad for 8 hours of my time @ month for 6 months)
But, as luck would have it, I have had several opportunities come to me recently that has made me think that working for myself would not only be good for me in general, but very profitable as well. The questions is...which one.
Is it the electrical distributorship in either Orlando or Tampa?
Could it be the medical supply operation here in the Atlanta aea?
Or could it be a fastener distributorship based out of Jacksonville?
And I still want to do a coffee house before I call it a day.
You know, I have become quite lazy when I am on the road lately. Either my focus isn't on the many projects that I have going, or I have just too many of them to focus on any one.
I can't even focus on this post. Enough for now.
